American Samoa is in the South Pacific and is very close to the International Date Line. It comprises seven islands: Tutuila, the largest with an area of 53 sq miles; Ta’u, Olosega and Ofu, known as the Manu’a group; and Aunu’u, Rose and Swain’s. Pago Pago, the capital city, was the setting for Somerset Maugham’s book Rain. A beautiful island regarded as the home of the Polynesian people with warm friendly people. |
