||Malta is an island nation in the Mediterranean close to Sicily and Libya. It has the oldest freestanding stone structures in the world (Stonehenge in GB are about 3,000 years old the ones in Malta are 5,000) and as such the Islands have been inhabited for a very long time. Due to its climate, it has good land and is famous for its citrus fruits. It has long been a vital and strategic base in the Mediterranean and as such, there are numerous forts etc that relate to its importance. A good country to visit albeit a tad expensive.
